aye mere vatan ke logon, tum khub laga lo naara
yeh shubh din hai ham sab kaa, lahara lo tiranga pyaara
jo laut ke ghar naa aaye - (2)aye mere vatan ke logon, jara aankh me bhar lo paanee
jo shahid huye hain unakee, jara yaad karo kurbaaneejab ghaayal huwa himaalay, khatare me padee aajaadee
jab tak thee saans lade woh, phir apni laash bichha dee
sangin pe dhar kar maatha, so gaye amar balidaanee
jo shahid...
jab desh me thee diwali, woh khel rahe the holee
jab ham baithe the gharo me, woh jhel rahe the golee
the dhanya javaan woh aapane, thee dhanya woh unakee javaanee
das das ko ek ne maara, phir gir gaye hosh ganvaake
jab ant samay aaya toh, kah gaye ke abb marate hain
khush rahana desh ke pyaaro, abb ham toh safar karate hain
kya log the woh divaane, kya log the woh abhimaanee
jo shahid...

tum bhul naa jaao unako, iss liye kahee yeh kahaanee
jo shahid...
jay hind, jay hind kee sena - (2)
jay hind, jay hind, jay hind

Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon (Live) - Albert Hall Song Lyrics in Hindi

Read along to find out interesting facts about the Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo Song(ऐ मेरे वतन के लोगो)

The Makers of the Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo Song(ऐ मेरे वतन के लोगो)

The Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo Song(ऐ मेरे वतन के लोगो) was penned by Kavi Pradeep inspired by the Sino-Indian War of 1962. Countless Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives to protect our nation during this war. The incident touched the heart of Kavi Pradeep and he wrote the first stanza of this song. The inspiration came to him when he was on a walk on Mahim Beach. He borrowed the pen from a fellow walker and jotted the memorable lyrics.

Mehboob Khan approached Kavi Pradeep a few weeks later to pen down the lyrics for a song (Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo Lyrics) for a fundraiser event that would take place in National Stadium in New Delhi. Kavi Pradeep approached Lata Mangeshkar for this song because he thought only Lataji could do justice to the song’s strong emotions and lyrics (Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo Lyrics). The music director for this song was C. Ramachandra who wanted to assign the song to Asha Bhosale. This was because of some misunderstanding between the music director and Lataji. Finally, Kavi Pradeep personally convinced Lataji to sing the song. Initially, it was decided that the song would be a duet in the voices of sisters Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosale. However, Asha Bhosale backed out at the last-minute forcing Lataji to perform a solo of Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo Song(ऐ मेरे वतन के लोगो).

The Meaning of the Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo Lyrics

The Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo Lyrics has very inspiring and thought-provoking lyrics. The first stanza of the song tells the people of the nation to happily rejoice the national day by unfurling the national flag. It agrees that the occasion is definitely worth rejoicing. The song also asks the people of the nation to take some time to think about our martyr soldiers who died during the Sino-Indian war. It encourages the people of the nation to shed a tear remembering the contributions of such soldiers.

The next stanza reminds the people of the nation how the independence of India would once again be at stake if these brave soldiers didn’t show courage. The song reminds the listeners of how these soldiers bravely safeguarded the borders by facing death valiantly. The song appeals to the nation to not forget these sacrifices.

The next stanza reminds the listeners that the soldiers were facing colours of death when we were enjoying the festival of colours ‘Holi’. The lyrics remind us that when we were lighting lamps in our homes on Diwali, they were facing real bullets to safeguard us. The singer appeals to the listeners to shed a tear remembering the youth, vigour and bravery of the soldiers who died.

In the next stanza, the writer throws light on the trait of unity in diversity evident in India. Even when our nation seems to be separated by its differences, during such national challenges the differences are erased. There was no caste or creed of the soldier who sacrificed his life at the border. The dying soldiers belonged to different backgrounds. Some were Sikh, some were Jaatt and some others were Marathas. All were the children of our nation driven by the single passion to safeguard our borders.

The song concludes with a stanza highlighting the endless passion of these soldiers. It explains how each of these soldiers were devoted to the nation’s safety and fought till the end to achieve this goal.
