Sunidhi Chauhan is an Indian playback singer with over 1200+ songs sung and she is regarded as one of the finest musical talents in the country.  

Born on the 14th of August 1983 in New Delhi, India, Sunidhi Chauhan started singing at the age of 4 influenced by her mother. She started performing at local competitions and gatherings and after completing high school she quit schooling to pursue a career in singing. During this time, Sunidhi was training herself through cassettes and CDs and was doing live shows. 

Her path changed when actress Tabassum spotted Sunidhi and gave Sunidhi a chance to sing on her show “Tabassum Hit Parade”. After watching Sunidhi perform, Tabassum advised Sunidhi and her family to move to Mumbai where she introduced Sunidhi to Kalyanji-Anandji. Sunidhi trained under Kalyanji-Anandji and became the lead singer of Kalyanji’s troupe “Little Wonders”. From there Sunidhi Chauhan had no shortage of gigs. 

Sunidhi Chauhan made her debut with 1996’s Shastra where she sang “Ladki Deewani Dekho” alongside Udit Narayan at the age of thirteen. In the same year, she won her first reality singing show “Meri Aawaz Suno” where she was honored with the Lata Mangeshkar Trophy for Best Female Singer of India. After this Chauhan decided to expand her boundaries and took training in classical singing for the next two years while working as a background vocalist.  

Sunidhi Chauhan’s breakthrough came in the form of the song “Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi” for which she won the RD Burman Award at the annual Filmfare Award and was also nominated for the Best Female Playback Singer Award. 

Sunidhi Chauhan is one of Bollywood’s most sought the female singer of her time and she has given many popular songs like Ek Nazar Mein Bhi, Lamhon Ke Rasgulle, Lamha Lamha, Right Here Right Now, Sriman Narayan Narayan- Dhun, Tujhe Dekha Jabse, Awara Paagal Deewana, Ghagra, Tu Hi Hai (Female), Banthan, More Sawariya, Jise Hasna Rona Hai, Ya Habibi, Chandni O Meri Chandni, Right Here Right Now Dhol Mix, Dhoka Dhoka, Piya Aa, Baras J, amongst others. 

Sunidhi Chauhan has been nominated for 85 awards and she has won 22 of them including two Filmfare Awards, the Global Indian Film Award, the Global Indian Music Academy Awards, two International Indian Film Academy Awards, a Mirchi Music Award, two Screen Awards, Star Guild Awards, Zee Cine Awards amongst others.
