Did you know that Rajesh Khanna's chartbusting number Zindagi Ek Safar was added as a bonus track to Ramesh Sippy's Andaz? When the film was being shot, Khanna's star power was soaring as a romantic heartthrob, while hero Shammi Kapoor was fast losing his youthful charm. So the makers decided to include this song in the flashback portions of the film to increase the box office draw. Ironically for Shammi Kapoor, who ruled hearts as a lover-boy with a series of musical blockbusters, critical acclaim came in towards the end of his innings as a leading man in the emotional drama Brahmachari. Its songs too were a rage, especially the fun-filled Chakke Mein Chakka, which remains the nation's fave picnic number to this day.
