DDLJ Movie songs| 1942 A Love Story Movie Songs | Audio Jukebox

Two of the most popular and important albums from the 90s, 1942: A Love Story and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge created musical history on every level. While the former reminded everyone of the genius of R.D. Burman, the tunes of DDLJ made Bollywood cool for an entire generation of Indians, not only at home but even in NRI markets. According to Jatin-Lalit, Aditya Chopra had overheard some tunes when the duo had come for a meeting with Yash Chopra. And that's what inspired him to approach them. Aditya Chopra was so involved that he rejected 24 verses by Anand Bakshi before approving the final cut of Mere Khwabon Mein. Anther song, Mehendi Laga Ke Rakhna, which fetched Udit Narayan a Best Male Playback award, was originally part of another film, but eventually made it to DDLJ with a few changes as Aditya and Uday Chopra were in love with the track. 1942: A Love Story was also a result of filmmaking passion. When R.D. Burman demoed the first set of tunes with Vinod Chopra, he presented a fast-paced sound. A dejected VVC told RD that he had come looking for the soul of SD. On hearing this an emotional Pancham was inspired and the rest, as they say, is history.
