In this section, you can browse through the Saregama catalogue, preview songs for 90 seconds and even get awesome deals.

So that our catalogue is quick and easy to navigate, we have categorized our music collection across genres like Hindi Films, Regional Films, Classical, Devotional, Ghazal & Sufi, Remix, Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul Geet.

Songs that you have purchased will be listed in the download manager section of our website.

What is the difference between MP3 and HD format?

MP3 Format:

  • The audio of songs in MP3 format are typically compressed to make them compatible with mobile phones, laptops, Bluetooth speakers and other portable devices
  • An MP3 song typically has a file size of 4-5 MB

HD Format:

  • Songs in HD or WAV format are typically used for playout on high fidelity speakers and stereo systems. This is because songs in this format are not compressed.
  • The file size of WAV usually is 30 MB

What can I purchase in HD format?

You can purchase individual songs and albums in HD format.

Can I access the Sargeama Music Store on my mobile device?

Yes. You can access, buy and view the list of purchased content on your desktop, laptop, mobile phone and tablet.

If you are an Android/ Windows user, you will be able to download the songs directly to your mobile phones and tablets

If you are an iOS user, you will have to download the songs from your desktop or laptop and then transfer it to your iphone/ipad.

Can I access the Saregama Music Store irrespective of whether I have the internet or not?

You will require the internet to access the Saregama Music Store. However, you will be able to playout the downloaded songs even without the internet, from the music library of your mobile device or the download folder of your desktop/ laptop.

While browsing through the Saregama Music Store, I tried playing a song. It started and then stopped abruptly. Why did this happen?

If you have not purchased a song, you can preview a song for only 90 seconds on the Saregama Music Store.

Your 90 seconds preview got probably over and hence the song stopped playing.

To listen to the complete song, please purchase and download the song.

Is login mandatory to access the Saregama Music Store?

You need to login to purchase or download songs. However, you can browse our collection without being logged in.

What are the different modes of login?

You can sign in via Facebook, G+, email ID or mobile no.

I am trying to sign in to Saregama Music Store via email ID. However, I have forgotten my password. What should I do?

If you have forgotten your password, please follow the simple steps listed below:

  • Go to the sign via email ID tab on the Saregama Music Store
  • Enter your email ID
  • Click 'Forgot Password'
  • You will receive a password reset link from Saregama on your email ID
  • Click on the link
  • Enter a new password
  • You will be signed in to Saregama Music Store

I signed up using my email account. I want to now login using my G+ ID or my Facebook ID. Will I be able to do this?

You can sign up and then login interchangeably using any mode Facebook, G+ or email ID, as long as your email ID is the same.

I can see a cart symbol on the top right hand corner of the screen. What is it?

Just like any other website, the cart symbol carries a list of all the content you intend to buy.

To add an item to the cart, go to the song/ album of your choice and click the 'Add' button

Once you are done selecting all the songs/ albums that you wish to buy, go ahead and pay for them in a single transaction from the cart.

You can always choose to remove the item later from the cart if you change your mind.

If you have availed an offer by coupon code, this coupon code will reflect in the cart along with the appropriate discount.

If you have not chosen an offer, click on 'Get a coupon code' button to see a list of available offers.

I can see a number on the cart. What does it indicate?

The number on the cart indicates the total number of songs and albums added to your cart.

How do I add a song to the cart?

To add a song to the cart, follow the simple steps given below:

  • Click 'ADD' button given next to each song
  • Select the format of the song you want to buy
  • You will receive a confirmation that the song has been added to the cart

How do I add an album to the cart?

To add an album to the cart, follow the simple steps given below:

  • Select the album you want to buy
  • Click 'ADD' button
  • You will receive a confirmation that the album has been added to the cart

Can I buy both the MP3 and the HD versions for a particular song ?

No. You can add a song or album to the cart only once. However, if you have chosen a song in MP3 format you may choose to add the HD format to the cart and vice versa as well.

You can add the song or album to the cart again, only if you have removed it from the cart.

I have added a few songs and albums to the cart while browsing through the Saregama Music Store from the desktop. Will I be able to access the same list while accessing the Saregama Music Store on my mobile device?

Assuming you login exactly with the same credentials, you will be able to view the items in the cart irrespective of the device you are browsing from.

If you have not logged in, on either one or both the devices, the items in the cart will not be in sync.

Can I remove any song or album from the cart?

Simply click 'X' next to any item to remove it from the cart.

I can see a download symbol on the top right hand corner of the screen. What is it?

Once you complete your purchase transaction, the songs/ albums, that you have bought, will be listed here.

You can download/ re-download your songs from here. You will be able to see a list of purchased content only if you are logged in.

You may choose to download the songs immediately or at any point in future.

I can see a number on the download manager icon. What does it indicate?

The number on the download manager icon indicates the total number of songs and albums that have been purchased and never downloaded.

Do I need the internet to download songs from the download manager?

Yes. You will need internet connectivity to download the songs that you have purchased.

I have downloaded a song once. Can I download the same song again?

Yes. You can download any song that you have purchased a maximum of 10 times. If you have exceeded this limit, and wish to download the same song again, you will have to re purchase it.

I had purchased and downloaded a few songs on my desktop, while browsing through the Saregama Music Store. I now wish to download the same songs on my Andorid device. What should I do?

You can download the songs on to your Android device by following the simple steps listed below:

  • Go to the Saregama Music Store
  • Login from your Android device with the same login credentials as you had used on the desktop
  • Go to the 'Download Manager' section
  • Download the songs that you have purchased
  • Access the downloaded songs from the Music Folder on your Android device

Will the songs that I download belong to me forever?

Yes. The songs that you have downloaded belong to you forever.

Why am I unable to download the songs that I have purchased on my iOS device?

The Apple ecosystem doesn't allow an iOS user to download music from any source other than iTunes. Therefore, you can buy a song from the Saregama Music Store but not download it to your iOS device.

If you wish to enjoy your purchased music on your iOS device, you will need to transfer these songs from your desktop/ laptop to your iOS device via iTunes.

Can I transfer the downloaded songs from my desktop to my mobile phone or any other device?

Yes. Once you purchase songs from the Saregama Music Store, you own these songs. You can freely transfer these downloaded songs from one device to another.

What is the 'Share' icon next to each song?

The 'share' feature allows you to share a link of a particular song listed on the Saregama Music Store with your friends and family via Email, Facebook, and Twitter etc.

How do I buy a song/ album from the Saregama Music Store?

To buy a song/album from the Saregama Music Store, please follow the simple steps below:

  • Add a song/ album of your choice to the cart, click the 'Add' button
  • Go to the cart to review your wish list

Do all albums have the same price?

No. Every album is priced differently. Albums on the Saregama Music Store range from $1.44 .

Can I buy both MP3 and HD versions of the same song?

Yes. You can buy both MP3 and HD versions of the same song. Please remember, you will also be charged differently for both the song formats.

Are the songs and albums priced differently on the desktop version and mobile version of the Saregama Music Store?

No. The prices of the songs and albums remain the same irrespective of the device you are accessing the Saregama Music Store from.

What are the different payment options available to purchase a song/album?

You can choose to pay via via paytm wallet, credit card, debit card, net banking or mobile billing.

Mobile billing can be used as a payment option only if the net payable amount is Rs. 300 or less.

How does mobile billing work?

You can use mobile billing only if the net payable amount of your transaction is Rs. 300 or less. To use this option, click on 'Mobile Billing' when you proceed to pay from the cart. Then follow the simple steps below:

  • Select Mobile Billing as a payment option
  • Click on 'Make Payment'
  • Select your mobile network from the list, enter your Mobile no. and click 'Continue'
  • Enter the 4 digit pin sent to you on your mobile no. and click 'Confirm'
    • o If you have a prepaid connection, the net payable amount will be deducted from your prepaid balance.

My mobile operator is not listed under the mobile billing option. Why?

It is our constant endeavor to improve your experience on the Saregama Music Store. We are in discussion with different operators to expand our existing payment options. However, this may take time. Until then, you may choose any other payment option from the list.

I am looking for a specific song. I can't find it on the Saregama Music Store. Why?

Make sure you have spelt the name of the song correctly when you search the Saregama Music Store. If you are still unable to find it, it is probably because that song does not belong to Saregama India Ltd.

Where will the songs and albums that I have downloaded reside?

If you have downloaded songs/ albums on your desktop or laptop: the songs will be saved to your native download folder.

If you have downloaded songs/albums on your Android device: the songs will be saved to the music folder on your device

If you wish to enjoy your purchased music on your iOS device, you will need to transfer these songs from your desktop/ laptop to your iOS device via iTunes.

Why are there no songs by international artistes on the Saregama Music Store?

The Saregama Music Store currently hosts content that is owned by Saregama India Ltd. Currently Saregama India Ltd. doesn't own any international music label.

Can I download the apps from the Apps tab of Saregama.com?

If you go to the apps section, you will be able to see the following links on your screen, 'Available on App Store', 'Get it on Google Play'.

If you click on either of these links, you will be directed to the app on the relevant app store.

What is Saregama Music Cards?

Saregama Music Card is a portable USB device pre-loaded with 150+ HD quality songs (320 Kbps bit rate MP3 files). It can be connected to a laptop/ desktop, the stereo system of a car or any other media with USB connectivity.

Moreover, it also comes with a personal storage space of over 1 GB that allows you to save your personal collection of music.

The Saregama Music cards are based on themes such as Romance, Shakti, Lata Mangeshkar, Sufi etc. and range from Rs 500 to Rs 600

Return Policy

Can I return Saregama Music Cards?

Saregama Music card is a non- returnable Music Card. You can return only if the Music Card is damaged at the time of receiving or if you receive a defective Music Card.

Is there a time frame to raise a return request?

Return request must be filed within 12 hours of receiving the damaged Music Card and your Music Card needs to have the receipt of proof of purchase.

What is the return process?

The return process is as follows:

  • Go to saregama.com > Contact Us and write to us with the details of the Music Card and reason to return
  • Once the return request is raised, we will send across our courier agent who will pick up the card from the delivery address
  • We will fully examine it the Music Card and notify you via e-mail address shared by you, within a reasonable period of time, whether or not you are entitled to a refund as a result of the defect
  • If you are entitled to a refund, the refund for return will be initiated within 7-21 working days from the date of receiving the returned Music Card
  • If you are not entitled to a refund, Music card will be couriered to the delivery address again

Can I return the Music Card because I changed my mind and I no longer want that Music Card?

Music Card can be returned only in case of it being received in a defective/damaged state. The return will not be accepted if the Music Card is in a good state or just in case you changed your mind.

  • Damaged/ defective Music Cards must be returned in the original condition they were received in with all the accompanying accessories and in the original manufacturer's box/packaging
  • Only Music Cards fulfilled by Saregama India Limited will be eligible for return in case of any defect/damage.
  • Return request must be raised with 12 hours of receiving the Music Card

How will refund be executed for my order?

In case you have paid using Debit Card, Caredit Card, Net Banking or PayTM wallet: the amount will be credited back in the respective account through which the payment has been made within 7-21 working days.

In case you have paid using CoD: you will have to write back to us on feedback@saregama with the bank account details, your name and the branch name. We will transfer the money to the account details provided within 7-21 working days.

I have brought a Music Card. However, I have changed my mind and want to buy another SKU. Can I get it replaced?

No. once delivered, the music card cannot be replaced.

To buy any other Music Card of your choice, you will have to place an order.

Cancellation Policy

I have ordered for a Music Card. However, now I no longer want the Music Card. Can I cancel the order?

Yes. You can cancel the order. An order can be cancelled only if your order hasn't been dispatched. Once dispatched, order cancellation will not be accepted.

Saregama Carvaan is a music player that comes with 5000 pre-loaded MP3 songs from the Saregama catalogue. The songs are categorized by Artistes, Moods and Geetmala Hits.

Artiste category: 24 channels dedicated to legends like Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Jagjit Singh etc.

Moods category: 9 mood based channels including Romance, Sad, Happy and Sufi.

Geetmala Hits category: 50 Geetmala channels spanning across five decades of the Geetmala Ki Chaon Mein collection by Ameen Sayani.

You can also enjoy FM channels or listen to your personal collection of music via Bluetooth and USB.

How do I power on/ off Saregama Carvaan?

To power on/ off Saregama Carvaan, press the power button on the top right hand corner.

What are the different colour variants available in Saregama Carvaan?

Saregama Carvaan is available in Walnut Brown, Charcoal Grey, Electric Blue Electric Blue and Porcelain White

Can I answer phone calls using Saregama Carvaan bluetooth?

There is no call answering feature. Saregama Carvaan supports only Bluetooth pairing and music streaming via the Carvaan speakers.

Can I connect Saregama Carvaan using an AUX to an external device and play music? bluetooth

There is no AUX support. It cannot be connected to an external music player or a device. But it does offer headphone jack.

What are the different tune in modes available on Saregama Carvaan?

Saregama Carvaan has 4 modes i.e. Saregama mode, Bluetooth mode, FM mode and USB mode. To switch to any of these modes, press the corresponding button on Saregama Carvaan.

Here's a quick summary of what you can look forward to in each of these modes:

  • Saregama Mode: Enjoy 5000 pre-loaded songs from the Saregama catalogue spamming across categories like Artistes, moods and Geetmala. The songs spam across genres like ghazals, bollywood, devotional etc.
  • Bluetooth mode: Stream songs on your personal devices like mobile phone, tablets via Bluetooth to Saregama Carvaan
  • FM mode: Tune in to local FM channels

When you power on Saregama Carvaan for the very first time or reset it, it will automatically be set to the default mode i.e. Saregama mode.

How do I navigate Artistes, Moods and Geetmala categories in Saregama mode?

When you switch to Saregama mode, by default one of the stations from the Artistes category will start playing automatically.

To switch to another category (Moods/ Geetmala), press the corresponding category button.

To change stations within a category, turn the station selector left/ right.

Here's a quick summary of the music that you can enjoy within each category:

  • Artistes - 24 music stations dedicated to bollywood legends like Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi and others
  • Moods - 9 music stations covering moods like Romance, Happy, Sad etc.
  • Geetmala - 50 music stations spanning across five decades of the Geetmala Ki Chaon Mein collection by Ameen Sayani

I can see a big dial on Saregama Carvaan. What is it?

This dial is a station selector and allows you to switch between music stations.

Here's how you can use the station selector across different modes:

  • Saregama mode: turn left/ right to change music stations when within Artistes/ Moods/ Geetmala category
  • USB mode: turn left/ right to navigate across folders on the pen drive
  • FM mode: turn left/ right to change to previous/ next FM channel

Note: the station selector is disabled in Bluetooth mode

I can see <> buttons. What is it?

<> buttons represent the previous/ next respectively.

Here's how you can use these buttons across modes:

  • Saregama mode: go to previous/ next song
  • USB mode: go to previous/ next song
  • FM mode: go to previous/ next FM channel

Note: <> buttons are disabled in Bluetooth mode.

How do I change the volume level on Saregama Carvaan?

There is a volume dial on the right side of Saregama Carvaan. Move the dial up/ down to change the volume.

What information is shown on the display panel?

Here's the list of details shown on the display panel:

a. Mode indicator

  • Saregama mode: the panel shows the name of music station and name of the song that is currently playing
  • Bluetooth mode: Bluetooth indicator on the panel will be displayed. In addition, you will also be able to see whether or not your Bluetooth device is currently connected to Saregama Carvaan
  • USB mode: the panel shows the folder name and song name that is currently playing
  • FM mode: FM indicator on the panel will be displayed. You will also be able to see the frequency of the FM channel that is currently being played

b. Battery

  • Whenever Saregama Carvaan is in use, the battery indicator will always be displayed on the panel

What happens if I press the reset button?

When you press the reset button, Saregama Carvaan will be set to default factory settings. In this case, you will need to re-pair your Bluetooth device and re-set the category/ channel, you would like to listen to.

There is a light indicator next to the power button with a battery icon. What is it?

The light indicator turns on when Saregama Carvaan is being charged. This light is automatically turned off when the battery is fully charged.

How do I pair my mobile phone via Bluetooth to Saregama Carvaan?

To pair your mobile phone to Saregama Carvaan, follow the steps below:

  • Press the Bluetooth mode button on Saregama Carvaan
  • On your mobile phone, turn on Bluetooth. Select 'Saregama Carvaan' from the list of available bluetooth devices
  • Your mobile phone will now get paired automatically with Saregama Carvaan

Once your mobile phone is paired, the display panel on Saregama Carvaan will show 'BT Device Paired'.

Please note:

a. At any given time, you can pair only one device with Saregama Carvaan

I am in Bluetooth mode. Can I stream songs from Saregama Carvaan to my mobile phone?

You can only stream music from your phone, laptop or any other Bluetooth enabled device to Saregama Carvaan.

How do I listen to songs stored on my pen drive on Saregama Carvaan?

To play songs from your pen drive on Saregama Carvaan, follow the steps below:

  • Plug your pen drive into the USB port on Saregama Carvaan
  • Press the USB mode button
  • The first available song will start playing automatically
  • To move across folders on your pen drive, turn the station selector left./ right

Please note:

  • Saregama Carvaan supports pen drive upto USB version 2.0
  • You cannot play songs from external hard drives, mobile phones, laptops etc. on Saregama Carvaan. You can only play songs from pen drives with a storage capacity upto 64 GB

How do I set FM channels on Saregama Carvaan?

To listen to an FM channel, follow the steps below:

  • Press the FM mode button
  • The first available FM channel will automatically start playing
  • To switch to another FM channel, turn the station selector left/right or press the < > buttons

I am in FM mode. Can Saregama Carvaan also receive AM/ SW radio signals?

Only FM channels will play in FM mode. Other radio channels on AM, SW bands will not work.

Catching of external FM signal entirely depends on the strength of the signal in your area. If the location or area where you have kept the Saregama Carvaan has a weak FM signal, there is a possibility that you may face interruption in FM output.

Does Saregama Carvaan come with a remote?

Based on customer feedback, we are now also making remote to complement Saregama Carvaan. Only newer versions of Carvaan starting at Rs. 6990 will be packaged along with a remote.

You can use the remote in the following instances:

  • Mode selection: to select your preferred mode
  • Category selection: to select your preferred category when in Saregama mode
  • Manage song playout: to move to the next/ previous song or play/ pause the song
  • Volume control: to increase/ decrease volume

Can I power on Saregama Carvaan from the remote?

No. the remote does not allow you to power on/ off Saregama Carvaan

  • Open the battery compartment
  • Insert a fresh CR2025 battery with the correct polarity (-/+)
  • Close the battery compartment
  • Discard the used battery

Which batteries can be used in Saregama Carvaan remote?

A CR2025 battery is used in Saregama Carvaan remote.

Does the remote come in different colours?

No. The remote comes only in one colour.

Is there any warranty on the remote?

No. there is no warranty on the remote.

I want to buy a Saregama Carvaan without a remote.

Does Saregama Carvaan have a slot for a micro USB card?

There is no Micro SD slot on Saregama Carvaan.

What is the battery and adaptor specification? (tech specs)

Saregama Carvaan has a rechargeable Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 2200 mAh. Adaptor rating is 5V, 1A.

How do I charge Saregama Carvaan?Which artistes are available in Saregama mode?

Saregama Carvaan comes along with a wall charger. Plug the adaptor into a power socket. Connect one end of the USB cable to the adaptor and the other end to the micro USB port on the back panel of Saregama Carvaan. Turn on the switch and Saregama Carvaan will start charging.

It takes 2-3 hours to charge Saregama Carvaan completely. Whilst the battery is being charged, you will be able to see a red colour light next to the power button. This light will automatically turn off when the battery has been fully charged.

A fully charged battery, should last for 5-6 hours of playout time.

You can also look at the battery icon on the display panel for an indication of how much charge is available on Saregama Carvaan.

If you wish, you can also detach the adaptor and plug the cable into an alternate USB port on your laptop, music system etc. to charge Saregama Carvaan.

Please note, you cannot use Saregama Carvaan to charge any other device like a mobile phone/ tablet.

I have lost the charger that came along with Saregama Carvaan. Is there any other way I can charge Saregama Carvaan?

You can use Saregama Carvaan whilst it is being charged.

Can I use Saregama Carvaan whilst it is being charged?

You can use a power bank or any mobile phone/ tablet charger that has a micro USB cable to charge Saregama Carvaan. Any charger compatible with an Android device can be used to charge Saregama Carvaan.

How long does the battery last on single complete charge?

Once charged completely, enjoy 5 hours of playtime.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers the following:

The songs play in a random order. The songs cannot be selected manually . Though there is a Previous (<) and Next button(>) in case you want to jump to another song.

Can I create my own playlist?

Every product goes through a rigorous testing so the chances of product being defective are negligible. Dead on arrival applies when a newly purchased product does not function at all. In such a case, it will be replaced free of cost by our service center.To report such a case mail as on feedback@saregama.com.

If the product is found defective after checking by the service center then a new product or equivalent product will be issued against the faulty product. Under all circumstances, the decision whether Product is DOA or not rests solely with Saregama.

Dead on arrival doesn’t apply to the following cases:

  • If the product has been damaged / tampered/mishandled with by the customer
  • If the customer is not able to provide the original invoice
  • Loss of any spare part by the customer
  • Any other wear and tear caused to the product by the customer
  • Any issues related to any 3rd party products/services from any unauthorized Carvaan mini dealer
  • o Products damaged while being used DO NOT qualify for a refund or replacement but can be taken up in warranty

What is the Refund/ return Policy?

Any refund will be made only in case the order is cancelled before the dispatch. If the product has been dispatched to the customer, no refund shall be done.

Gift Music allows a user to gift Saregama Music cards and/or Saregama Shakti annual subscription to any user who resides in India

You can gift a maximum of 10 pieces of the same Music card in a single transaction

If you are based in India: You can pay via PayTm wallet, credit card, debit card or net banking

If you are based outside India: You can only pay via credit card

I have gifted my friend a music card. I want to track the status of my order. How can I do so?

I want to cancel my order for music card. I am unable to do so. Why?

Cancellation is allowed only until your order hasn't been dispatched. Your order must have been dispatched and hence, you are unable to cancel it.

Your friend must not have activated the first gift subscription sent by you. Request your friend to activate it. Once the gift subscription is activated, you will be able to send another gift to your friend.

How can I re-send gift activation instructions?

To re-send gift activation instructions, go to Gift Music > Saregama Shakti > Re-send Gift Instructions

What is Gift Yourself?

In case you want to purchase the music card or app subscription for yourself, you can choose to 'Gift Yourself'.

On selecting to gift yourself, the sender details get auto filled to receiver details and you will not have to repeat the process.

I am a creative director and work with an Ad agency. How do I check if a song belongs to Saregama or not?

To know if a song belongs to Saregama, please follow the simple steps listed below:

  • Click on the License Songs tab on saregama.com
  • Click on 'Check if Saregama has the song'
  • Enter the Song name and click Search
  • If the song belongs to Saregama, you will find a link to it which will enable you to listen to the song to confirm if we have the required version.

I work with a production house. We would like to license a few songs from Saregama. What do we do?

To license the songs that belong to Saregama, follow the simple steps listed below:

  • Click on the License Songs tab on saregama.com
  • Search the songs that you want to license
  • Select the songs
  • Click on the 'Get Selected Songs' tab
  • You will be presented with a form. Fill in the required details
  • When we receive these details we will get in touch with you
