Since 1901, Saregama has been a major presence in every aspect of Indian music. We own content in over 26 different languages and genres.

As we began digitizing our content we were able to size up our library. We have a total repertoire size of over 300,000 tracks of music recorded by 23,000 artistes, covered by 50,000 contracts. This makes us the repository of one of the largest music catalogues in the world.

This converts to over 25,000 hours of music !!

Our catalogue includes music in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Film music, classical music - both Hindustani and Carnatic - folk and light classical music, particularly ghazals, form the backbone of our archives.

Saregama has also had the privilege of a long association with legendary Indian film banners like RK Films, Yash Raj Films, BR Films, Navketan, Rajshri, Guru Dutt, Geetanjali Films, Shakti Films, Vishesh Films, Sippy's, Film Yug and many more, bringing to millions of listeners the very best of Hindi film music.

For years we have brought our listeners the legendary Lata Mangeshker, Suchitra Mitra, Asha Bhosle, Hemanta Mukherjee, Asa Singh Mastana, Noor Jehan, Farida Khanum, Ghantasala Venkateshwar Rao, M. S. Subbulakshmi, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pandit Ravi Shanker , Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Nazia Hasan; great composers like Sachin Dev Burman and lyricists like Sahir.

As we are implementing SAP with the IPR management module, our product and compilation teams will find it easier to mine our vast and varied catalogue across different parameters.

Our core businesses in music are, the creation of fresh music content in different languages for different genres and the acquisition of content across the spectrum. In this we play the role of music publisher, artiste and repertoire manager and record label. We also provide events as a platform to our artistes.

Our capability lies in marketing and distributing music software in CD, DVD and digital formats.

Finally, we are aggregators of music across labels and genres, and have the capability of marketing and monetizing the content.

As a listed company we ensure that fair, transparent contracts govern our transactions. Under Saregama Cares we run the Royalty Management Programme wherein we pay out royalties every month basis sales. Our SAP-enabled business will make this process swifter and more transparent.
